Trailer Repairs

Workshop trailer repairs covering braking systems, hubs, bearings, running gear, couplings, tyres, lights and electrical faults.

Trailer Repairs

Repairs based on the fault, not guesswork

A dragging wheel, hot hub, poor braking, noisy bearing, intermittent light or damaged plug can have several causes. We inspect the relevant system and repair what is actually required.

Our workshop photographs show the sort of faults found in real trailers: heavily corroded brake assemblies, seized or deteriorated components, damaged drums, ageing tyres and running-gear corrosion.

Mechanical and electrical trailer repairs

Typical work includes brake shoe and spring replacement, cable and linkage repairs, drum and hub work, bearing replacement, coupling and overrun repairs, lighting faults, plug replacement, damaged wiring, tyre replacement and running-gear repairs where suitable parts are available.

We can also deal with a trailer that has failed a service inspection or has been brought in specifically because something does not feel right.

Older trailers

Older trailers can still be perfectly usable, but repair decisions need to consider corrosion, parts availability and the condition of the surrounding structure. We will explain what we find and whether a repair is sensible.

Central Scotland Trailer Servicing Centre is workshop-based in Tillicoultry and is operated by JRGM Technical Services LLP.

Frequently asked questions

Can you repair a trailer without doing a full service?

Yes. If you have a specific fault, we can inspect and repair that issue. A wider service may still be recommended when the trailer condition suggests other safety-critical components need checking.

Can you repair seized trailer brakes?

Often, yes. The cause must be established first; seized cables, brake mechanisms, corrosion or incorrect adjustment can all contribute.

Can you work on older trailers?

Yes, subject to condition and parts availability. Older trailers often benefit from a careful inspection before repair work starts.
